National Women's Committee Annual Report

The Annual report will be moved formally at conference on the morning of Friday 17th February. Please note that only written questions on the report will be accepted. If a UNISON branch of regional women's group wish to submit a question, they must do so in writing to Sharon Greene, MPU 130 Euston Rd, London NW1 2AY or s.greene@unison.co.uk - no later than 5pm on 6th February.

Coalition ministers want to make major changes to the pensions available to public sector workers these changes will directly affect around 3.7 million women - more than 1 in 4 working women in the UK, and over 1 in 3 working women aged over 50 - who make up around 64% of the total public sector workforce.

Enough is Enough - Why women must vote ‘yes’ and take action to defend pensions

We have fought for thousands of women who worked part time and who were denied access to their employer’s pension scheme to be able to join those schemes, and to have their contributions backdated; also for the state pension to recognise the reality of women’s working lives – their caring responsibilities, time taken out of the workforce and their lower earning ability throughout their career .
