This circular advises branches of key deadlines under the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) Regulations 2011 that apply to England and non devolved public authorities in Scotland and Wales and revised EHRC guidance which will be useful in holding employers to account on equality issues. Branches are asked to ensure that key activists and Equality Officers are aware of the guidance.

Circular with a letter from the Independent Police Commission, set up by the Labour Party, calling for evidence for their forthcoming review of policing. UNISON has asked for an extension to the deadline for providing evidence and branches are invited to respond with any comments under the headings in the Inquiry Terms of Reference by no later than Friday 23 March 2012.
