Notice of Shared Services Seminar in FE and HE

A one day seminar on shared services in Further and Higher Education is being held on 10 February 2012 at SOAS (The School of Oriental and African Studies) Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG. The venue is close to Kings Cross, Euston and Russell Square.

AoC pay recommendation for 2011//12 confirmed - England

The Association of College (AoC) has now sent out the final FE pay recommendation to all colleges as 'confirmed'.

Dave Prentis announced at the recent TUC Congress that UNISON will be balloting for strike action to protect public sector pensions. The ballot has been approved by the Local Government Service Group Executive to include LGPS members working in further education and sixth form colleges.

Institute for Learning (IFL) membership England – Concessions Secured

After protracted and sometimes quite challenging meetings, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (DBIS), the Association of Colleges (AoC), IfL, UNISON, UCU and ATL have negotiated a way forward.  This way forward covers both the issue of reduced membership fees and revised criteria for determining which employees are required to join IfL.
